When painting lines or the like on roads, for example, the surface is first freed from water and dirt either mechanically or by means of compressed air. Compressed air is then directed toward the surface one or more times with control of the compressed air's speed over the surface, its vapour pressure and its temperature in such a way that optimal moisture emission is achieved while the surface temperature is kept at a low value. The surface layer is then warmed to such a temperature and depth that moisture travel turns inward. The paint or coating is then applied before the temperature has decreased to such a value that moisture travel once again turns outward. |
