<p>PURPOSE:To aim at preventing the drivability of a vehicle from deteriorating upon running of a reduced cylinder number, by providing an EGR regulator device which makes the recirculation of exhaust gas upon the reduced cylinder smaller than that upon the full cylinder number running. CONSTITUTION:A duty ratio D that is computed by multiplying an EGR factor K which is determined in accordance with the running condition of the engine on whether the engine runs with all cylinder number or a reduced cylinder number, the amount Q of intake-air and a duty ratio scale factor (a) together, is further multiplied with a compensating factor, for example, 1/2-1/8, for operation upon a reduced cylinder number running to obtain a duty ratio D upon the reduced cylinder number running, which is less than that upon full cylinder number running. Further, a pulse set to the duty ratio D is delivered to an EGR valve 30 to regulate the EGR ratio in accordance with the duty ratio D so that upon full cylinder number running upon which the duty ratio D is large, the opening degree of the valve 30 becomes large to increase the EGR rate, but upon the reduced cylinder number running the EGR rate is decreased to that instabilities in drive may be prevented.</p> |
