PURPOSE:To securely rapidly correct meandering of a band plate by providing a roller bearing against the band plate for detecting thrust due to the meandering of the band plate and a meandering correcting roller having the rolling direction controlled according to the detection. CONSTITUTION:When a band plate 2 travelling in the direction X meanders 9, thrusts T, T' are produced respectively in a thrust detecting roller 1 and a meandering correcting roller 10 respectively pressing the band plate 2. Thus, a thrust detector provided on an end of a rotary shaft of the roller 1 is operated to send the output signal to a servomotor 25 of the roller 10. When a motor shaft 24 is rotated to rotate a strut 19 through a bevel gears 23, 22 while a frame arm 18 fixed to the strut 19 is rotated, meandering correcting rollers 10, 10' are turned about the axis of the strut 19. Thus, the meandering correcting rollers 10 are returned to the proper normal positions to correct securely and rapidly the meandering of the band plate 2. |
