PURPOSE:To correct weaving motion and to prevent heat buckle by providing a gradient represented by a specified equation to roll crowns. CONSTITUTION:The gradient phic (rad) of the roll crowns of each hearth roll is adjusted to a value represented by the equation (where w is the width of a steel strip, phi is the gradient at each point of the roll, and x is coordinates having a point O at the center of the roll in the longitudinal direction of the roll). The gradient phic of the roll crowns of hearth rolls in the front half of a heating zone is adjusted to 0.95X10<-3>-3.6X10<-3>. The gradient phic in the rear half of the heating zone, a soaking zone and a slow cooling zone is adjusted to 0.13X10<-3>- 1X10<-3>. The gradient phic in a rapid cooling zone is adjusted to 0.13X10<-3>-1.5X 10<-3>. By the above hearth roll weaving motion is corrected, and heat buckle is prevented. |
