A device has been conceived to enable a metal-sheathed gas-bubble brick to be withdrawn simply, rapidly and without significant dirt nuisance from a perforated brick or from a perforated-brick sleeve. This device consists of a frame (1) for providing support on the outside of the perforated brick (2) or of the perforated-brick sleeve or on the outer wall of a metallurgical vessel, a draw rod (3) which is guided in the frame to be axially displaceable relative to the latter and which can be aligned with the centre axis of the gas-bubble brick (5), a coupling device (4) provided on the draw rod (3) for coupling the end of the draw rod to the gas-bubble brick (5), and of a driving device (10) for displacing the draw rod (3) into the direction pointing away from the perforated brick (2). The coupling device (4) consists of a coupling part (16) seated on the draw rod (3), a counter-coupling part (18) fixed to the gas-bubble brick (5), and a coupling bolt (28) which can be pushed through mutually aligned bores (20, 27) in the two coupling parts (16, 18). <IMAGE>
