Circuits for increasing the processing power of a digital electronic music instrument controlled by a small computer in real time

Further developments of the novel electronic music instrument described in P 3219254.1-51, which comprises - a music keyboard unit, - a music signal-generating unit, - a small computer connecting these two units and controlling them in real time, and - a basic counter synchronising all these parts. The developments concern the following points: 1) Development of the music signal-generating unit in such a way that it can address the main memory of the small computer throughout, even if the address width of the said memory is greater than the word width. 2) Development of the processor of the small computer in such a way that it can execute rapid logical and arithmetic bit-handling instructions, including branch instructions. 3) Development of the processor of the small computer in such a way that it can execute quasi three-address instructions with two address fields in the instruction format. 4) Development of the processor of the small computer in such a way that a sufficiently large address constant can be included in the main-memory multi-purpose register transfer instructions in spite of a narrow instruction format. n
