The method for chemical-thermal treatment of products with the aid of a glow discharge consists of the products which are to be treated being accommodated in a discharge chamber, voltage pulses being applied to the discharge chamber, the products being heated, and being held in the discharge chamber for the time required for their treatment. From the time when the voltage is applied to the discharge chamber, one of the technical parameters of the treatment process is measured, and the boundary level of the energy to be transmitted in the pulse is varied in accordance with these parameters when arc discharges occur, depending on the variation of the technical parameter to be measured.
