The invention provides a bail for an anchor bolt expansion unit comprising a cap region 2 from which extend a plurality of arms for connection to shell segments. The central region 3 of the cap is attached to the outer region 8 thereof through a plurality of angularly spaced integral webs 9 adapted to fracture in an axial direction by a nut bearing bolt, and the appended shell segments become wedged between the nut and the wall of the drill hole into which the bolt is being secured. Weakening holes 4 are provided in the legs to fracture in the event that webs 9 fail to do so. In order to facilitate and regulate the fracture of webs of the cap region, at predetermined zones the portions 11 between the interconnecting webs 9 of the central region of the cap are bent away from the outer peripheral region thereof. <IMAGE> |
