Processed meats are sliced by means of a slicer (13) which consists of a disk (16) rotatable by means of a motor, and of cutting means (19, 20) rotatably mounted on the disk. For driving the cutting means (19, 20), these are provided on their bearing shafts with a pinion (22, 24) which during the rotation of the disk (16) rolls along for instance a fixed gear ring (18) provided with internal teeth (25) and mounted coaxial with the rotary disk (16). In that the disk (16) and the cutting means (19, 20) are rotated in different directions, the cut slices will fall straight downwards.
