The invention relates to mounting devices for the perforation-free mounting of folds of loose documents and the like on the spine of a folder or file, and a method of producing the mounting devices. To this end, the mounting device has a number of PVC rods, arranged at a distance apart, their ends being high-frequency welded to retaining strips, and the mounting device thus formed in turn being high-frequency-welded at the retaining strips to the spine of the folder or file. The mounting device may also have strip-shaped retaining elements which are formed integrally with the film-like retaining strips, which in turn are high-frequency-welded to the spine of the folder or file. In this case, the mounting device is, in a single working step using a welding and cutting tool, cut out from plastic film and simultaneously high-frequency welded at its retaining strips to the spine of the folder or files.
