PURPOSE:To prevent the penetration of oil mist of bearing grease into a head disk assembly by providing a magnetic seal at one side and labyrinth structures at 2 sites of the other side of a part between a spindle hub and a housing base opposite to said spindle hub. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk device of a center spindle structure consists of housing bases 3 and 4, a spindle 5, a carriage 6, a magnetic circuit 7, a head disk frame 9, and the like. In such constitution, the magnetic seal 18 is provided at the side of the base 4 and the labyrinth structures 19 and 20 are provided at two sites opposite to the spindle hub 13 at the side of the base 3 respectively. Thus the labyrinth structure with double steps is obtained. This can prevents a phenomenon where the grease of the bearing 11 is turned into oil mist and scattered to a magnetic disk group 16 and a magnetic head 24. Therefore the crush fault due to the grease scattering can be avoided with both magnetic disk and magnetic head. |
