The method of producing fine powder molten metal comprising providing a source of the molten metal to be atomized, delivering molten metal from said body to an atomization zone through a melt delivery tube, the portion of said delivery tube which is exposed to said atomization zone consisting essentially of boron nitride, directing a stream of atomizing gas against said stream in said zone to atomize said molten metal. The invention also describes a high temperature atomization nozzle, said nozzle having a melt delivery tube of boron nitride and said nozzle having a gas orifice surrounding said melt delivery tube. <IMAGE> |
