PURPOSE:To secure such a steering device as being capable of getting an ideal toe change characteristic, by locking a coupling member, extending in vertical directions, to an outer end of a rack driven in the direction of the car breadth, while connecting the coupling member to a knuckle arm via a side rod. CONSTITUTION:In case of a steering device which engages a pinion gear being rotated and controlled by a steering handle and includes a rack 7 to be driven in the direction of the car breadth, a knuckle spindle supporting a wheel 10 is coupled to a car body via a suspension lower link 9. And, a side rod 12 is attached to a knuckle arm of the knuckle spindle via a first ball joint 14, while the other end of the side rod 13 is connected to a coupling member 16, extending in vertical directions, being locked to an outer end of the rack 7 via a second ball joint 20. At this case, the rocking center of the ball joint 20 is set to the more lower side than a horizontal plane inclusive of a rack center axis (n). |
