PURPOSE:To eliminate loss in operation and to economize electric power consumption by providing an upper limit level and a lower limit level to the layer peak height of a blast furnace charge, stopping charging when the layer peak attains the upper limit level and performing charging when said peak attains the lower limit level. CONSTITUTION:An upper level line (b) and a lower level line (c) are set to the layer peak level of a charge and the continuous charging is performed until the layer peak level attains the line (b) when the charging operation is stopped. The continuous charging up to the line (b) is performed again when the layer peak level falls and attains the line (c). The line (b) and the line (c) are preferably set at about + or -1-2m from the standard level line (a) of a blast furnace. The combination use of the control for cooling the furnace top gas by water spraying is preferred when the layer peak level approaches the line (c) and the temp. of the top gas rises. |
