PURPOSE:To provide a means for preventing a recording liquid from oozing out with high reliability, by a simple construction wherein an opening and closing device is provided in a recording liquid supplying passage connecting a recording head and a recording liquid storing chamber to each other, and a means is provided for opening the opening and closing device in the condition wherein the storing chamber is connected and for closing the device immediately before the storing chamber is disconnected. CONSTITUTION:The opening and closing device is constituted of a lever 11 and a tube 8. An ink tank 18 is flexible, and it is maintained at the atmospheric pressure, so that the tip of the recording head 3a is maintained at a slightly negative pressure, and an ink is prevented from leaking out from the tip of the head 3a. When the ink is ejected from the head 3a by a mechanical force such as drive by a piezoelectric element, the tank 18 is deformed in accordance with the decrease in the amount of the ink, thereby constantly supplying the head 3a with an appropriate amount of the ink. |
