PURPOSE:To achieve high accuracy in torque characteristics by providing both a mechanical governor and an electronic governor in an engine, and by actuating the electronic governor only in the low-revolution high-load region after the mechanical governor has received fuel restriction. CONSTITUTION:A mechanical governor 6 and an electronic governor 7, both controlling a fuel supply quantity regulating means 5 are provided in an engine. The mechanical governor 6 is actuated in the ordinary load region. However, in the low-revolution high-load region wherein the primary governor lever 9 of the mechanical governor 6 reaches the limitation of the increased fuel quantity, the limit switch is operated by hitting and the electronic governor 7 is actuated. In this manner, highly accurate torque characteristics is obtained in comparison with the control made by the mechanical governor only. |
