PURPOSE:To make a circular polarized wave antenna thin by providing a microstrip line, bent periodically, with a conductor plate radiating element coupled electromagnetically with it. CONSTITUTION:Input power is transmitted through microstrip line 10 and in its process, it couples electromagnetically with rectangular radiation terminal 11-1 at coupling parts 12 and 13 to radiate a radio wave. In this case, coupling parts 12 and 13 differ in spatial direction by 90 degrees, so radiated radio waves are circular polarized waves. Here, the circular polarized waves can be obtained even when the bending angle of line 10 is set to any other angle than 90 degrees and the radiating element is changed in shape. Further, since line 10 is bent by every 1/2 wavelength and arrayed periodically, circular polarized waves radiated from radiating elements 11-1... are in phase in the direction perpendicular to dielectric substrate 3 and then added, thereby forming an array pattern. Thus, a circular polarized wave array pattern of thin structure can be formed. |
