Organic phosphoric acid esters in pyrolysis residue of poly (2-cyano acrylate) polymer are recovered by means of extraction with an organic solvent, filtration and distillation. In the process, R1 = C1-C4 alkyl; R2 = H or C1-C4 alkyl; R3 = H or C1-C4 alkyl; a,b, or C = 0-3, an integer; and the sum of a,b and c is 3. The dielectric constant of the organic solvent is 2.0-3.0 at 20-25≦̸C. Recovered product is aryl alkyl phosphate having a very high boiling point, and is used as a heating medium in the thermal decomposition of cyano acrylate polymer.
