One or more pins (7) at the bottom end of the support (2) are driven into the ground, while the balls are accommodated in troughs (9) alongside each other at the top. In the installed position, the lengthwise axes of the troughs can be at a slight angle to the horizontal, a stop (11) to retain the balls being mounted at the lower trough ends. The portion incorporating the troughs can be removable from the support, as can the pin. The support can be of box-section, the trough portion and the pin each having a section fitting inside it.
