A camera focus or exposure adjustment mechanism of the type having a slider (13) underneath a slot (9) in the external housing (11) of a camera, in which static friction associated with the slider (13) is controlled by a moving pinion (3) coupled to the slider (13) and engaging a fixed rack (6). The pinion (3) extends through the slot (9) in the housing (11) where it can be manually rotated by an operator's finger to be moved along the rack (6). |
