The process comprises causing a suitable acrylic monomer cast into a cell-type mould with glass walls to polymerise, wherein one wall of the mould has a roughened surface owing to chemical attack. Polymethyl methacrylate sheets having an anti-reflective surface are obtained which are widely and advantageously used for the construction of ceiling lightfixtures, skylights and the like, having a visually non-reflecting and optionally opacified surface.
