PURPOSE:To improve the measuring accuracy in a region where a moisture content is particularly small by measuring simultaneously the moisture of powder together with the moisture of a sample of which the amt. of hydrogen is preliminarily known then converting the moisture of the powder by the software processing in a converting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A neutron moisture meter is provided with a neutron source 1, a BF3 counter 2, a shielded vessel 3 housing the same, a preamplifier 4, a counting rate meter 5, a converting circuit 6 and an indicator 7, and a correcting sample 11 is provided between conventional type neutron moisture meter and a moisture meter hopper 8. A sample of which the content of hydrogen is known, for example, an acrylic plate, is used as the correcting sample. The fast neutron radiated from the source 1 repeats collision against the respective hydrogen atom nuclei of the moisture in the sample 11 and in the powder in the hopper 8 and the thermal neutron decelerated by both is measured with the meter 5. If the hydrogen component in the sample 11 is subtracted in the circuit 6, the moisture in the hopper 8 is indicated on the indicator 7. |
