The measuring system of the tooth measuring probe contains as Hall sensor (50) two Hall sensor elements (50A, 50B) arranged opposite one another in the magnetic field. The differential output signal of this double Hall sensor is processed, in a matching circuit (56) designed as a difference amplifier circuit, to form a measuring voltage with respect to zero volts which is twice as high as in the case in which only one Hall sensor element is used as Hall sensor. Moreover, the matching circuit (56) acquires a simpler design, and it can be substantially more accurately measured, since there is no longer any need for a reference voltage source in the matching circuit. <IMAGE>
