The invention includes a hopper (T) as a storage space for the bulk material, an agitator (Rw) which acts as a catching device for the parts to be separated and a feeding channel (Zk) which is connected to the hollow-cylindrical drive shaft (Aw) of the agitator (Rw). The drive shaft (Aw) which is rotatably mounted in the floor (B) of the hopper (T) supports an agitating arm (Ra) arranged inside the hopper (T). By means of the rotary movement of the agitating arm (Ra), the parts contained in the hopper (T) are successively guided through the hollow-cylindrical drive shaft (Aw) and thus separated. The agitating arm (Ra) also immediately disentangles any parts which have become wedged or interlocked in the hopper (T). The device designed in this way is especially suitable for storing, separating and feeding cylindrical electronic components during the automatic placement of parts on circuit boards or ceramic substrates. <IMAGE>
