Telescopic steel-tube shore consisting of two tubes and intended for shoring up building parts, trench walls and for general supporting purposes. To avoid the disadvantages of commercially available shores, an expensive threaded lock susceptible to failure, a bored upper tube susceptible to buckling, and further expensive movable parts, there are no longer any movable parts on this novel shore. A steel bolt which is welded in the lower part of the upper tube and fixed to a supporting adjustable ring around the lower tube, engages in a tooth slot in the lower tube and permits vertical adjustability of the shore within seconds. In accordance with current regulations, the upper tube is unable to fall out of the lower tube, and there is no risk of accident when the upper tube falls into the lower tube. The upper tube no longer has any bores, and thus retains its full loadability; the shore can be employed in both directions vertically and also as a sloping shore; it can also be subjected to tension. For manufacture, only commercially available, standard steel tubes and small components are required.
