<p>A method for producing a coherent light beam of uniform intensity wherein a photographic film (50), positioned at a predetermined distance (d) from a light source (52), is exposed to a beam of coherent light of nonuniform intensity and varying from point to point over its cross-sectional area in accordance with a predetermined Gaussian function, emitted from said source (52). The film is then developed and reinserted at said predetermined distance (d) from the light source (52) to act as a filter selectively absorbing portions of the light passing therethrough. Such light beam of uniform intensity is advantageously used for producing holograms utilized in hologram scanning apparatus.</p> |
