PURPOSE:To efficiently cool a generator without consuming wasteful power by controlling the number of motor-driven fans separately installed in response to a load of the generator. CONSTITUTION:A concrete foundation forms a generator chamber 2 disposed at the top and a flywheel chamber 3 disposed at the bottom. A rotor 5 of a generator is disposed in the chamber 2, and a flywheel 7 is coupled with the lower end of its rotational shaft 6. Motor-driven fans 12, 13 separately installed are provided above a stator 11 of the generator, and motor-driven fans 14, 15 separately installed are provided at the upper end of a cooling air passage 4. In case of operating the generator, the fans 12-15 are controlled ON or OFF in response to a load, thereby operating the fans of the prescribed number. |
