PURPOSE:To eliminate a position detector by using an encoder provided to detect the speed as for detecting the position. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor linear motor 1 is composed of a stator armature 5 made of armature coil 4 group, and a field magnet secured fixedly to a movable element 3. Photoelectric converters 12-1, 12-2 for composing a linear encoder 9 for detecting the postion and the speed are provided at the side of the element 3, and a movable element origin signal position reset detecting switch 13 is provided at a supporting member 11. Further, conductive patterns 7-1, 7-2 for the movable element origin resetting are formed on the upper surface of the armature coil 4 group. First, the patterns 7-1, 7-2 are energized to return the element 3 to the origin signal position, and then a current of the prescribed current is flowed to the coil 4 on the basis of the counted number of the pulses from the encoder 9. |
