<p>PURPOSE:To enable to surely reach light radiated from the light-emitting side to the light-receiving side in the titled device by a method wherein the light- emitting surface and the light-receiving surface are both formed into a convex lens-shaped surface. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting surface 25a and the light-receiving surface 25b of a resin case 24 are both formed into a convex surface for acting as a convex lens. Light, which is radiated from a semiconductor pellet 11a on the light-emitting side through the light-emitting surface 25a, come to be concentratedly irradiated to a matter 18 to be detected, as indicated by arrows B. As a result, the light-receiving surface 25b fixed its light-receiving direction come to concentratedly receive the light, which is reflected by the matter 18 to be detected, as indicated by arrows C, and the light radiated from the pellet 11a come exhaustively reach a semiconductor pellet 11b on the light-receiving side. Moreover, as pellet heads 21a and 21b, whereon the pellets 11a and 11b are mounted, have been both designed so as to act as a reflective plate, the directivity of light is furthermore improved, conjointly with the action of the light-emitting surface 25a and the light-receiving surface 25b.</p> |
