<p>PURPOSE:To erase an EP-ROM with high reliability by reading and checking storage contents and producing an erasion end signal when all these storage devices are equal to the prescribed value to discontinue the radiation of ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:Ultraviolet rays are radiated from an ultraviolet ray emitting tube 6 which is controlled by a lighting control circuit 5 of an ultraviolet ray emitting device 2 in response to a lighting indication given from an erasion checking device 3 incorporating a microprocessor 7. Thus the storage contents of an EP-ROM 1 are erased with radiation of the ultraviolet rays. Then the contents of the ROM 1 are read out via the processor 7 for each fixed time after erasion of the storage contents. When all storage contents are equal to logic 1, a turn-off indication is supplied to the device 2 from the processor 7. At the same time, the end of erasion is informed by a buzzer 4. In such a way, the ROM 1 is erased completely in a short time and with high reliability.</p> |
