<p>Multi-layer thin film which can be stretched to form gas impermeable packaging material comprises (a) a support layer of poly-alpha-monoolefin which has been irradiated (pref. >=2.5 megarads) to induce sufficient cross-linking to allow it to be stretched, and (b) a second layer (pref. poly-alpha-olefin) which has not been irradiated. After lamination, the material is again irradiated to cause crosslinking in the second layer. Resistance of the multilayer to delamination is improved.</p> |
