PURPOSE:To efficiently convert to the desired AC voltage by providing switch means in a power source in which a plurality of unit power sources are connected in series, and controlling it ON and OFF in polarity. CONSTITUTION:The number of DC power sources E connected in series in the state that the first switch means S in ON and OFF is altered, the OFF DC power sources E are bypassed by a diode D, and the peak value of the DC voltage outputted from the entire power source A is sequentially varied. The ON and OFF combination of the second switch means W1-W4 is altered to invert the polarity to the load PL of the power source A, thereby outputting the desired AC voltage. The frequency of the AC voltage is altered by the clock frequency CP of a sequencer C for controlling the ON and OFF sequence of the first and second switch means, and can be independently controlled from the amplitude of the voltage. |
