PURPOSE:To enhance efficiency in piling blooms manufactured by continuous casting, to prevent cooling of blooms, and to stabilize bloom piling work by poling blooms regularly and in a plurality of paralleled rows by repetition of both pushing of the blooms in the direction perpendicular to the bloom conveying direction and stepwise lowering of the piler. CONSTITUTION:Blooms 35a to 35c, which have been transferred onto a roller table 11 at a piling position are pushed to a piler main body 18 side by the pushing ram 15 of a pusher. At this time, since the finger 26 of a guide rod 24 is projecting in an erect position in the space between skids 20 of a piler 14, the bloom 35a abuts on the finger 26 and stops. Next, the piler 14 is lowered by the thickness of the bloom 35, and the next bloom is pushed in a similar manner to be piled up. When the predetermined quantity of blooms are piled up, the finger 26 is retreated to the brim of the piler, and the blooms are piled in a similar manner on the vacant piler 14. By repetition of this procedure, steel pieces can be piled efficiently in a plurality of rows. |
