PURPOSE:To form an end cap without forming a notched section, by pressing and transforming flange sections of an elongate member that has been cut into a prescribed length, and carrying out injection molding. CONSTITUTION:An elongate member 1 that has been cut into a prescribed length with a prescribed angle is placed on a core mold 8 with the forward end thereof abutted against a stopper 8c of the core mold 8 and the molds are closed. A projection 8a is inserted between flange sections 3, and protuberences 8b press the end sections of the flange sections 3 toward an inner space 4 to form transformed sections 3b. A resin 12 is injected from a gate 10 into a cavity 11 in a direction as shown at an arrow X so that an end cap 13 is formed at the end section with the end cap being interrupted by projections 3b. The transformed sections 3b of the flange sections 3 do not close all the inner space, and since little openings are formed at the opposite peripheries, the resin 12 flows in a small amount through these openings in a direction shown at an arrow Y to form an outflow resin section 12a. |
