The contact breaker of the ignition distributor comprises a movable arm 14 carrying a movable contact 15 and a stationary arm 7 which is adjustable carrying a stationary contact 10 on one of its portions 9a which is securely fastened to the end of the stem of a screw-pusher 19, preferably by means of a mechanism for taking up play comprising a spring washer 24. The position of the stationary contact 10 results only from the movement of the portion 9a of the arm 7 which carries the stationary contact 10 with the screw 19 with respect to the circuit-breaker holder 3.
