The sanitary valve assembly, on a wall, has a fastener, on a covering plate, for a plastics hood with the valve body protruding through a hole. The hood (9) is divided into two halves along a plane which symmetrically divides the hole (10). The fastening device (18,19) is designed so that the two halves (9a,9b) are detachably fixable on the plate (7) so as to lie against each other in the dividing plane. A connecting device (16,17) joins the halves together in this plane. They may be locked together, with linear displacement onto the dividing plane.
