<p>PURPOSE:To separate an unsaturated hydrocarbon directly from a water-containing mixed gas, by using a solid adsorbent composed of a copper( I ) salt, a copper( I ) oxide, a copper(II) salt or copper(II) oxide and activated carbon. CONSTITUTION:Unsaturated hydrocarbon is separated from a mixed gas containing N2, O2, CH4, C2H6, CO2, H2, etc. in addition to unsaturated hydrocarbon, by using a solid adsorbent composed of (A) a copper( I ) halide, copper( I ) oxide, a copper(II) halide, carboxylate, sulfate, basic salt or ammine complex salt, or copper(II) oxide and (B) activated carbon. The solid adsorbent can be prepared by dissolving or dispersing a copper salt or copper oxide in a solvent, adding activated carbon to the solution, etc., mixing thoroughly, and removing the liquid phase e.g. by vacuum distillation, etc. The adsorption is carried out under normal pressure at 0-40 deg.C, and the adsorbed component can be desorbed by heating at 60-180 deg.C or lowering the partial pressure.</p> |
