<p>PURPOSE:To control the driving current of a payoff side capstan motor so that the tape tension between capstans is constant without providing any tension detector to a two-capstan driving type tape recorder, by detecting the level of the driving current of, for example, take-up side capstan motor as the value of the tape tension between the capstans. CONSTITUTION:A motor driving current taken out of the driving amplifier 13b of the capstan motor on the take-up side is supplied to an integrator 15, which generates an output with a DC range level corresponding to the tape tension between the capstans. When a tape run mode is entered, the tape tension detection output is supplied to a servo amplifier 12a from a phase comparing and sample holding circuit 10a as a substitute for a phase comparison error signal. When the tape tension between the capstans becomes larger than a value set by a tape tension controller 17, the output of the amplifier 16 increases and the output of the amplifier 12a increases. Consequently, the rotating speed of the payoff side capstan motor 5a becomes larger than that of the take-up side capstan motor 5b and the tape tension between the capstan decreases to a specific value.</p> |
