发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF BASE PLATE FOR LEAD STORAGE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the mechanical strength of a base plate for a lead storage battery by making it by solidifying a molten bath of a Pb-Ca- or Pb-Ca-Sn-system alloy before the solidified alloy is rolled into a thin plate which is then subjected to heat hardening and expand work after being cooled to ordinary temperature. CONSTITUTION:A molten Pb-Ca-Sn-system alloy is continuously supplied between a pair of compulsorily cooled metallic rollers, and cooled by the outer surfaces of the rollers into a solid phase which is then immediately rolled to obtain a thin plate of around 1.1mm. thickness. The thus obtained thin plate, after being cooled to room temperature, is subjected to heat treatment at 125 deg.C for one hour before being subjected to expanding work thereby making a base plate for a lead storage battery. By the means mentioned above, the mechanical strength of the base plate is improved and the life of a lead storage battery can be increased.
