PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a disc pad by bonding a thin metal plate insert member provided with a plurarity of convex portions and gas vent holes, to the back of a friction member by simultaneous molding and by fitting and adhering the bonded member to a back plate. CONSTITUTION:A thin metal plate insert member 4 provided with a plurarity of convex portions 5 to fit to dovetail holes 3 in a back plate 2, and many gas vent holes, is bonded to the back surface of a friction member 1 by an ordinary method of simultaneous molding at the thermoforming of the friction member 1, and the bonded member is fitted and adhered to the back plate 2. By this method the friction member 1 is not incorporated in the back plate 2 at the thermoforming, so that the heat from the hot metal mold at the thermoforming is uniformly and rapidly transferred to the friction member 1 from all the periphery and the reaction speed of the resin is synchronized and equalized. Therefore, the distribution of both the density and hardness is made uniform, and thus the quality of the friction member 1 is improved. |
