CONSTITUTION:When the 2nd multicore optical cable B is connected to the 1st multicore optical cable A, the bundle part end surface 9 of the cable B is set opposite to the photodetector 5, which is coupled with all fiber cores 21, 22... of the cable B. When the connection of the core 21 is completed and the core 22 is connected, the internal terminal side of the core 22 is set at a fusion connector 3 and the external end side of the core 22 is set at the photodetector 4. At this time, operation on the side of the photodetector 5 is unnecessary. In this state, light is made incident to the core 22 to detect its alignment state, which is fed back to the connector 3 to make a fusion connection when the best alignment state is obtained. The next core 23 is the same. Namely, the setting of only the 1st core to the photodetector 5 is required.
