PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material which is readable by small capacity semiconductive laser, by respectively holding two kinds of compound forming a metal complex having an absorbing band in a near infrared region by heating on a support in an isolated state. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by formula I (wherein X and Y are a sulfur atom, an oxygen atom or an imino group, A and Z are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aromatic ring or a heterocyclic ring and may be bonded together to form an alkyl group or an aromatic ring and a nickel, a cobalt, a palladium or a platinum salt or a complex of an org. compound having stability constant smaller than that of a metal complex to which the compound represented by said formula I (e.g., substituted phenols) are suspended in water along with aqueous high-molecular protective colloid such as polyvinyl alcohol to prepare an aqueous suspension which is, in turn, applied to a support. Both compounds form a metal complex color image having an absorbing band at 600-1,200mmu represented by formula II by heat-fusion. |
