The invention relates to an electrical machine which is supplied via a converter and has a stator laminate stack (3) which supports the stator winding, which is connected to the converter. In order to limit the high-frequency currents which are produced by the harmonics of the converter voltage, and hence the losses caused by said currents, it is proposed that parts of the stator winding located outside the slots (2) be provided with an electrically insulating compound (6 or 8 respectively) which can be magnetised, in order to increase the stator winding scatter, which compound at least partially fills the intermediate spaces between the individual conductors (1) and conductor harnesses, and/or surround the conductor harnesses. <IMAGE>
