PURPOSE:To prevent a paper from being cut by a printing head, by stretching by pressing a paper to the discharging side by slanted edges provided on both sides of a ribbon guide plate provided at the tip of a printing head when a carrier is moved. CONSTITUTION:By moving the carrier 4, printing is conducted on a receipt paper 7 and a journal paper by a printing head 3. In this case, the papers are pressed by a paper press plate 18 so that they are prevented from being levitated from a lower part of a platen 1, and the journal paper which is taken up at an upper part of the tip of the head 3 can not be sagged, but the receipt paper 7 can be sagged. However, since slanted parts are provided on both sides of the ribbon guide plate 6, the papers are stretched sideways and to the paper-discharging side (namely, upward) by the slanted edges when the guide plate 6 is moved transversely, so that the papers can be prevented from being broken by being caught by a needle 19. |
