PURPOSE:To prevent a correction ribbon from being wasted, by a method wherein correction arms provided with a correction ribbon take-up mechanism are turned in accordance with a correcting command, and a correction ribbon is taken up by a one- character amount in conjuction with an upward movement of the arms. CONSTITUTION:When a correcting key is depressed, a rod 28a of a solenoid 28 is protruded to turn the correction arms 8, 8 with a support shaft 8a as a center through a projected piece 8e, whereby the correction ribbon 7 is positioned between a type wheel 4 and a recording paper 3. In addition, a push rod 29 is also turned upward through arms 29a, 29b by an upward movement of a support plate 8b, a turnable lever 10 is turned counterclockwise with an intermediate shaft 11 as a center by a pulling force of a return spring 14, while a ratchet 15 feeds a ratchet wheel 12 by one pitch, and a return-preventing ratchet 18 is slipped. On the other hand, a feeding lever 21 is pushed by the tip of the arm 29b to be turned clockwise with a shaft 22 as a center, a spring 27 is extended to pull a feeding pawl 25 to the side of a ribbon presser 24, and the correction ribbon 7 is firmly pressed, so that the ribbon 7 is taken up to the side of a take- up reel 13 by a one-character amount. Accordingly, the correction ribbon is prevented from being wastefully consumed. |
