PURPOSE:To obtain a titled mill capable of reducing the deformation quantity in the horizontal direction of a work roll by providing edge-supporting side rolls for horizontally supporting the work roll of the mill at its both ends and the outside of a material to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:Edge-supporting side rolls 3 for horizontally supporting the body surface of a work roll 1 at its both ends and the outsides of a contacting part W to be in contact with a material to be rolled, are provided to the work roll 1 of an in-line system rolling mill. The roll 3 is a slit type or disk type supporting roll. By using such rolls 3; 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 high mills are used as 5, 8, 7,10, 12 high mills as shown by the figure, and their performances are remarkably improved. That is, all the traces made by the compressive contact of supporting rolls are eliminated from the rolling sheet-width part of work roll, and the effects such as the reduction of a stress (mainly a bending stress) produced in the work roll are obtained. |
