PURPOSE:To make it possible to continuously inspect a seam part, by performing the positional control of an ultrasonic probe corresponding to the output of a seam detector having a pair of infrared sensors, and meandering said probe with respect to the seam part. CONSTITUTION:A seam detector 3 consisting of a pair of infrared sensors 6A, 6B is attached to the inside of a ring shaped holder while an ultrasonic probe 15 is attached to a ring shaped holder 17 and both of them are provided so as to be made reversibly rotatable by a motor 19. In this case, the motor 19 is positively or reversely rotated when the seam 1 of a pipe 2 continuously sent inside the holder 17 is detected by either one of sensors 6A, 6B. Because of this, the probe 15 is controlled so as to scan the seam 1 in a meandering state and the seam 1 of the pipe 2 sent in a longitudinal direction can be continuously subjected to ultrasonic flaw detection. |
