There is a central hydrostatic pressure pocket on the sliding surface of the pressure section facing the roller mantle, with a pressure zone between the flexible carrier and the pressure section, with a connection to a pressure source. There are at least four additional pockets grouped around the central pressure pocket on the sliding surface, with a rim round the whole pressure pocket zone. The central pocket is profiled to give extensions along the line of the pressure roller axis, as far as the rim, while the additional pockets lie diagonally to the pressure roller axis. Designed to correct the bending movement of a flexible pressure roller, for handling paper and other web materials, there is a better performance by eliminating any friction contact between the pressure section and the roller mantle. |
