PURPOSE:To convert the circuit to LSI and to simplify the device by adding an output of a center position detecting device to the driving device of a sensor as a feedback signal corresponding to deviation of an edge detector. CONSTITUTION:An edge 2 to be tracked of a long-sized object 1 such as a steel plate is detected by an edge detector 3 in which many edge detecting sensor 4 are arranged in arrayed form, and the detector 3 is moved and controlled by a driving device 5 through a controller in the direction (a) perpendicular to the direction of moving (b) of the object 1. A one-dimensional Laplacean arithmetic device that detects edge position from an output of the sensor 4 is added and subtracted together with an output of adjoining sensor 4 by an adding and subtracting amplifier corresponding to each sensor 4 and detects the center position through an absolute value arithmetic device. A coordinate deviation signal of center position from the center position detector is converted to a feedback signal by a PID controller and the driving device of the edge detector 3 is fed back and controlled by this signal. |
