PURPOSE:To restrain enlarging of color image elements and to improve graininess by forming image forming grains composed of a mixture of light transmitting grains contg. a sublimable color former and light-intercepting grains. CONSTITUTION:Image forming grains are prepared by mixing in a proper ratio, light transmitting grains 1 obtained by dispersing a colorant 2, such as dye or pigment, and a sublimable color former 3 into a colorless transparent adhesive 4, such as styrene-butadiene copolymer or acrylic resin and granulating them into spheres; and opaque grains 5 obtained by dispersing an opacifying agent 6, such as carbon black, TiO2, black dye or pigment, into a resin binder 7, such as styrene-butadiene copolymer or epoxy resin. Since the opaque grains remain in both of image areas and nonimage areas, when an image is formed, the difference between grain densities in the highlight parts and the shadow parts becomes small, extension of the grain image is restrained, and graininess can be improved. |
